Two undergraduate Quinnipiac students attended the Sigma Xi Student Research Conference in North Carolina this past weekend.

Returning from the Sigma Xi Student Research Conference in North Carolina last weekend, Briana Nash’s immediate response was to thank Dean Matthew O’Connor for the opportunity. Briana and partner, Marcin Mazurek, came back to Quinnipiac with an award at the undergraduate level for Behavioral and Social Sciences. Besides the recognition they received for themselves and Quinnipiac, Briana and Marcin found the experience to be “very enriching.” The valuable connections and insights from an interdisciplinary setting will not only enrich the quality of their final paper, but also showed the two undergraduate students the potential value of such events in bridging the worlds of science and engineering with business. “There are so many brilliant ideas and creations that never make it to larger society,” Briana stated, “. . . I think that by uniting the fields at the academic level [we] could begin to address that gap.”
