For 11 School of Business students, Winter Break 2016 was a far-reaching educational experience.
Accompanied by Professor Thomas Coe and Professor Choonsik Lee, the students traveled to Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo, Japan, as part of the SB 360 International Business course.
“The SB 360 trip was full of experiences,” said Professor Coe, associate finance professor and acting department chair. “From traveling across the Pacific to countries never visited, getting to know each other, exploring new cultures and confronting different languages, as well as getting an introduction to different business methods and customs; the time the class spent together was a great experience.”
During the two-week trip, the students had the opportunity to go on many cultural and business visits, including the National Palace Museum of Korea, Reebok Korea, Korea University, IBM, the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Tokyo Imperial Palace grounds.
“Visiting Asia was one of the most impactful experiences of my life,” said Gabriela Gualpa, a senior industrial engineering major. “It gave me an appreciation of a culture I didn’t know much about.”
